He Yi Dao Wellness Residency at Ravenswood Older Adult Center

In partnership with Dance Entropy and the Ravenswood Older Adult Community Center, The Healing Circle Foundation piloted the He Yi Dao Wellness Program—a 6-week and 4-week residency blending movement, mindfulness, rhythm, and community connection. The residency concluded with two uplifting performances: one featuring seniors and another sharing of Energy Spiritual Dance. Participants reported improved mobility, reduced stress, and greater joy, with many requesting continued sessions. This pilot highlighted the power of collaboration to deliver meaningful wellness outcomes for older adults.

The Healing Circle Foundation was invited to lead a two-part residency at the Ravenswood Older Adult Community Center, in partnership with Dance Entropy. The initiative included a six-week and a four-week He Yi Dao Wellness Program, culminating in two celebratory performances: one featuring the seniors themselves and another showcasing Energy Spiritual Dance.


The program offered a holistic experience through gentle movement, mindfulness, rhythm, singing, and community engagement. Guided by trained instructors, participants explored He Yi Dao practices designed to improve balance, increase mobility, reduce stress, and nurture emotional resilience. Incorporating dance and rhythm added joy and connection, uplifting the seniors while fostering a renewed sense of community.

Outreach through flyers, announcements, and personal invitations ensured strong participation. Pre- and post-program surveys captured meaningful outcomes: seniors reported improved mood, relaxation, mobility, and overall well-being. Many continued mindfulness practices at home, underscoring the program’s sustainability.
